About Rivers Daly Heritage
Chronicling Our History
Rivers Daly Heritage is a repository for stories, publications, visuals, and other historical documents that tell the story of the development of RM of Daly and the town of Rivers (now the Municipality of Riverdale), Manitoba and the communities in the surrounding region of southwestern Manitoba. The goal is to make our community’s shared history accessible to everyone in an interactive and engaging manner.
Evolving Resource
Rivers Daly Heritage is not an archive in the traditional sense; there is no repository of physical items. The site is essentially a digital storytelling medium. Anyone can contribute, creating a living, constantly evolving and expanding collection.
The website builds on the existing work of historian Ken Storie, creator of Virtual Manitoba on the Manitoba Historical Society website, and the vast collection of detailed historical information he has compiled about the Rivers region and dozens of other communities around the province.
The website is maintained by volunteers. The goal is to continually update Rivers Daly Heritage with additional information as resources are identified, stories are written, and historical documents are collected.
